Third Coast International Audio Festival Listening Room
Hi CoS listeners. As I mentioned on the show, Catalogue of Ships was invited to participate in a Third Coast Festival Listening Room event at the Steppenwolf Theatre this past Wednesday March, 8. The event was about podcasting. We represented the avant, artsy side of podcasts, I guess.

David couldn't make it, being in North Carolina and all. Instead, we pre-recorded some answers to questions we thought me might get and I played them as samples off my laptop (seen in the pictures).

The whole event was lots of fun. The woman in the photos is Julie Shapiro, who hosted the evening. In addition to CoS, the other guests were Bad at Sports, an hour long show about arts and culture here in Chicago, and Jones Franzel from PRX a group near and dear to Catalogue of Ships' heart.
I was asked to bring a sample of another podcast I liked, and naturally, I chose Love and Radio so check them out if you aren't listening already.

Third Coast says they will be podcasting a recording of the event soon, so I will let you know when it comes out, but I don't think it will be for a few weeks. If you are desperate to hear me being interviewed before then, send an e-mail to catalogueofships@gmail.com and I'll hook you up.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the event, it was great to meet some of our fans, and hopefully attract some new listeners. It was a lot of fun.
