Comedy Central's website just added a syndicated media player!! Woo hoo!

That means I can post their videos on our blog. Admittedly, there is not a lot of Comedy Central relevent material for Catalogue of Ships to post, but here are two videos from our guest contributor, Kristen Schaal. Enjoy!

Hi, all.

It is very very strange to not be doing a Catalogue of Ships episode this weekend, but I am very much enjoying my "vacation" and having my first completely free weekend ever.

In fact it felt so weird, I decided to update the site a little bit. I FINALLY got around to adding a real Press section and separated out our the press from our listener reviews (which we REALLY appreciate..., btw).

We've gotten some fairly mainstream press (The Baltimore Sun and The Third Coast International Audio Festival), and so it seemed to make sense to separate that out from the so-called listener reviews.

Before anyone writes me questioning my choice of what counts as "press" and what counts as a "listener review," let me just tell you that I drew the line extremely clearly. Anything that is a review on a podcast listing site (idiotvox, iTunes, Yahoo, PRX, podcastalley) is a Listener Review, anything else, ANYTHING ELSE, (blog posts, podcasts etc...) is press.

I value neither one over the other. For what it is worth, we calculate the Baltimore sun article (which in the print version had art and everything! It took up almost a full page!) netted us about 3 new listeners, whereas idiotvox and others have clearly done much, much better for us. So while we're flattered by press, it's the listener reviews that really help get the word out. Thanks!
